How to Get More Likes on YouTube Videos: 5 Simple Tactics

Sean Crowley, April 20, 2024

Today, many businesses and personal brands use YouTube to promote their products and services. Unfortunately, some of the brands may not get the number of likes they were hoping to get. If you’re one of those struggling, here’s good news: you can change that! Too easy.

There are several tactics used by experienced YouTube creators to get more likes on YouTube videos female comments. I’m going to present you 5 simple tactics that will help you get a lot of thumb ups on your video in no time!

  1. Tell viewers to like your video
You should use some type of “call to action” to entice viewers to like your video. You have to guide the viewers and tell them what you want them to do. You can do this by saying ” Like this video ” at the beginning or end of a video. I suggest you do it in every video.

If you want to make your “call to action” more engaging and interesting, vary the phrases by saying “Smash that like button if you haven’t already” or “If you want to see more videos like this, like this video right now.

You’d be amazed at how one phrase can change the number of likes your video receives. Research shows that if you use a verbal “call to action” and ask your viewers to like your video, then you can expect to get twice as many likes.

That’s DOUBLE the likes on a YouTube video… just by adding an additional sentence to your video script. So make sure you remember this as it will help you increase the engagement rate of your videos.

  1. Use YouTube video annotations
As I said before, you have to be direct in digital marketing. If you want your viewer to take a specific action, you have to ask them to do it. This will encourage him to do something you want.

Otherwise, if you don’t ask, then you can just wait for something to happen, but that’s not what real salespeople do. True salespeople induce their audience to take a certain action. And, guess what, the public is usually willing to do whatever you ask of them.

To entice your viewers to like your video, you can also use YouTube’s annotation feature . Annotations are small text boxes that you can include in your videos and can be used for many purposes.

To add an annotation, just go to your YouTube channel Creator studio, click “ Video Manager ”, select “ Videos ”. Now select one of your videos, click on the “ Edit ” tab and you will see the “ Add annotation ” button . There you can select the time frame (when) and where in your video this annotation should appear.

There are different types of annotations like Speech Bubble, Note, Title, Focus, Label . But it doesn’t really matter much, just choose the standard “Note ” and include your call to action. For example, « Support us by liking this video! «. That’s it, just by including this simple annotation at the end of your video you’ve probably increased the likes (or engagement in general) double!

  1. Engage with your audience
Communicate with your audience, answer their questions, reply to comments and never leave them hanging. If you’re still not sure why you should, here’s the thing… Research conducted on several YouTube channels claims that YouTube creators who engage with their audience get much better overall engagement (including more likes on YouTube channels). videos).

Many times YouTubers achieve even 10 times more engagement compared to the period in which they did not actively interact with their audience.

The point is that when your audience sees that you answer their questions and actively respond to the comments on the videos, they instantly become more interested in your activity and the content you produce. And because they support you, they will press the “Like” button more actively.

People value having their actions recognized. Keep in mind that every time a viewer commented, watched or liked your video, they did something they didn’t have to do. Was beyond. That is why you must appreciate their actions and respond, respond and engage in other ways.

  1. Understand your audience and what they came for
The 21st century has become the century of rapid information exchange. There is so much information on the Internet that the viewer is used to getting what he wants and when he wants it immediately.

There’s nothing worse than if the viewer has watched your entire video but didn’t get what they wanted. Remember that viewers come to YouTube for different reasons. Some want to be entertained, others look for DIY guides ( “do it yourself”) and others want to know more about a specific topic. You have to know why your audience comes to see your content in the first place and what they expect from you.

If your content is about entertaining, persist in giving your audience what they want and entertain them. If you’ve always shared some informative guides, keep doing so. By staying consistent with the theme of your content, you will increase the likes you get on your videos. Because if the viewer really got what they wanted, then they are more likely to like your video.

Also, if you have a personal channel, consider creating more personal (emotional) videos. These videos tend to have a much higher engagement rate because viewers get to know you and get to know your personality better. As a result, they feel connected to you and can support you by liking your content more actively.

  1. Upload videos consistently
Consistency is king. We can describe coherence as the art of presenting yourself. It doesn’t matter if you show up daily, once a week, or twice a week. The key is persistence.

Your audience needs to know when you will upload your next video, as they may be interested in watching it right after you publish it. Your audience will know when to expect your next video only if you maintain a regular posting schedule.

Although consistency is the most important thing, don’t forget to only upload quality content. If you set your schedule to upload videos daily, make sure the content you upload is quality.

If you see that the quality of your content has decreased, change your schedule to 3 videos a week. Remember that you must combine consistency and quality. It doesn’t really matter much if you upload daily or 3 times a week, just make sure the quality is maintained.
